KLPR is hiring! We’re looking for a talented and dynamic public relations team member who will manage and support various hotel and restaurant accounts and work on our media relations team.✨ This inherent go-getter is an EXCELLENT WRITER who stays on top of hospitality trends in media and is comfortable leading hotel+ restaurant accounts. This position reports to the Media Relations Director. THREE TO FOUR of experience with at least TWO years of travel/hospitality PR experience is required.

Position: Media Relations Senior Account Executive/Account Supervisor
Location: Chicago, IL
Key Responsibilities:
Lead travel and restaurant accounts, acting as day-to-day client contact and always anticipating next steps. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers. Develop and execute strategic media relations plans to maximize coverage and visibility for our clients. Create compelling press materials, including press releases, media pitches, and key messaging documents. Coordinate media interviews, press conferences, and events. Monitor media coverage and industry trends to identify opportunities and challenges. Attend all client meetings with enthusiasm and professionalism. Keep client folders organized. Send client leads and media hits in real-time. Work on and send Client Activity Reports at the end of every month. Schedule routine media appointments at client establishments. Attend segments, media interviews, etc. with clients. Qualifications for an ideal candidate:
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field. 3-4 years of experience in Media Relations (TravelFood & Beverage), with a proven track record of securing media placements from pitch to finish. Genuine interest in the hospitality industry (with knowledge of Chicago and corresponding markets). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and project management abilities. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
