Camp Leader

Under the immediate supervision of the Camp/Program Director, the Leader assists with the daily operations and administrative responsibilities of a camp/program for children ages 2.5-6. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Leader is responsible for: Accepting responsibility for the physical safety and emotional well-being of the children. Ensuring children are properly supervised and accurate attendance is always maintained. Communicating clearly and courteously with school personnel, center staff, specialized camp/program staff, parents, junior counselors, and children. Assisting in planning a well-rounded camp/program of recreational activities including music, games, drama, arts and crafts, social activities, and special events. Implementing the camp/program as posted on the weekly calendar. Reporting accidents, property damage, or major disciplinary problems to the director. Assisting in setting up and taking down equipment and cleaning up the area daily. Maintaining cleanliness of the center, including picking up trash, sweeping the floor daily, etc. Picking up snacks and supplies from the Department's warehouse. Wearing required HCRP staff shirt and nametag at all times. Wearing appropriate closed-toed shoes for activities (no flip flops unless approved by Program Supervisor/Coordinator). All other duties as assigned. Administrative Requirements: Assisting in securing Participant Information Form for each child. Assisting with preparing the weekly calendar and posting on site. Ensuring that parents sign children in and out each day. Maintaining accurate attendance sheet at all times. Assisting with preparation of camp/program newsletter. Completing accident/incident reports accurately and turning them into the director. Documenting and notifying the director with any concerns regarding staff or children. Minimum Required Education/Experience

Special Qualifications/Skills: Must be 16 years old. Ability to effectively meet the social, emotional, and physical needs of children. Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with parents, peers, and participants. Experience: Prefer paid experience working with children. Education: Minimum two (2) years of High School. College coursework preferred. Rate of Pay: Salary commensurate with experience. Contingent
