Job Overview

The Lee Group is seeking an experienced

OCEAN FREIGHT COORDINATOR

to support operations at one of our international logistics clients in Newport News, VA. This is a warehouse-based administrative role supporting ocean freight operations within a fast-paced international freight forwarding environment. This is not your typical administrative position! The OCEAN FREIGHT COORDINATOR will play a key role in the organization and management of shipment of goods across international borders on behalf of importers and exporters.

You will be responsible for clerical and documentation tasks while also spending time in a warehouse setting, requiring flexibility, strong attention to detail, and the ability to remain active throughout the workday.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with prior international freight forwarder experience who is looking for long-term potential with a global logistics operation.

Job Responsibilities

of the Ocean Freight Coordinator Provide administrative support for ocean freight and warehouse operations Prepare, review, and process shipping and freight documentation accurately Perform data entry and maintain records within internal systems Coordinate paperwork flow between office and warehouse teams Communicate professionally with internal departments and operational staff Assist with clerical tasks related to inventory, shipping, and receiving Spend portions of the day in the warehouse environment as needed Perform other duties as assigned Job Qualifications

2-5yrs prior experience working for an international freight forwarder is required Strong clerical and administrative skills with high attention to detail Comfortable working in a warehouse administrative environment Ability to remain on feet for extended periods, including bending and standing Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled warehouse when required Proficiency with basic office systems and data entry Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
