
About the Role
The Account Executive is responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of existing customer accounts while identifying opportunities for incremental growth. This role focuses on building strong customer relationships, increasing sales volume across product categories, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through consistent service, product knowledge, and account development. This position supports the Company’s sales and profitability goals through professional account management, consultative selling, and collaboration with internal teams. The Account Executive position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime compensation for hours worked over 40 in a work week. The Account Executive reports directly to the Director of sales. Responsibilities
Manage and grow assigned existing customer accounts within a designated territory Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding products, pricing, service, and promotions Develop account-specific strategies to increase sales volume, product mix, and profitability Maintain strong relationships with customer decision-makers through regular phone and in-person visits Identify opportunities to introduce new products, seasonal items, and additional product categories Provide customers with pricing information, product details, and market updates Respond promptly to customer inquiries and follow up on requests, issues, and feedback Travel to customer locations as needed to conduct account reviews and business development meetings Maintain accurate, organized account records and sales forecasts Complete and submit weekly sales reports detailing account activity, opportunities, wins, and losses Collect and communicate competitive market information to management Partner with operations, customer service, and management to ensure consistent service and issue resolution Represent the Company in a professional manner and maintain a positive company image at all times Perform other duties as assigned by management Qualifications
Prior sales or account management experience in food distribution Knowledge of paper goods, dry goods, refrigerated, and frozen food products Familiarity with restaurant accounts Required Skills
