
Overview
This position is responsible for any of the various tasks listed as assigned: arrange for the release of FedEx express shipments from custom's custody and complete all types of classification activities, process FedEx express caged shipments to ensure timely release, performs audits and quality referral functions.
Responsibilities Analyze documentation to determine admissibility and arrange for the type of release required with customs FTN and FedEx express systems. Research entries on customs reports, identify errors and provide comments, penalty impact, FTN savings and actions required to bring entries into compliance. Interact with FTN teams, FedEx express and CBP port office/hub via email, letters or telephone to resolve problematic entries. Assist with nrtc review weekly review in cross referencing with rcd's and job aids. Perform prior disclosures, QA referrals and contact customers in a professional manner, advising them of all duties and fees payable to customs for clearance of their merchandise. Complete all audit activities assigned accurately and timely and classify imported merchandise by determining the proper tariff classification, duty rate and entering value using t/b and FedEx express systems. Generate daily performance reports on classification and related activities.
High school diploma or GED required.
Two (2) years of business experience or two (2) years of college credits preferred.
Working knowledge of customs regulations, harmonized tariff schedules and special tariff treatment programs.
Ability to analyze data & information and make sound decisions in a time‑sensitive environment.
Effective communication skills with internal and external customers.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet multiple deadlines.
Experience processing a high volume of incoming information via image, hard copy, phone and fax.
Proficiency with MS Office and Outlook, multiple screens and windows.
Preferred Qualifications Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM CT, with about two hours of overtime each day. Some holidays and weekends may be required when needed. Remote.
Pay $15.50/hr
Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current. Starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job‑related factors. Permitted by law.
