
Overview
This position is responsible for various tasks assigned: arrange for the release of FedEx express shipments from customs custody and complete all types of classification activities, process FedEx express caged shipments to ensure timely release, and perform audits and quality referral functions. Analyzes documentation to determine admissibility and arrange for the type of release required with customs FTN and FedEx express systems. Researches entries on customs reports to determine error ownership, provide comments, penalty impact, FTN savings, and actions required bringing the entries into compliance. Interacts with FTN teams, FedEx express, and CBP port office/hub via email, letters or telephone to resolve problematic entries. Assists with weekly NRTC (no reason to cage) reviews in cross referencing with RCDs and job aids. Performs prior disclosures, QA referrals, etc. Contacts customers professionally, advising them of all duties and fees payable to customs for clearance of merchandise and the 24-hour response requirement if changes to an entry are requested. Completes all audit activities assigned accurately and in a timely manner. Completes classification of imported merchandise by determining the proper tariff classification and duty rate and calculating the entered value using T/B and FedEx express systems. Prepares a daily performance report on classification and related activities. Ensures files are completed accurately and timely according to customs regulations, FDA and FedEx contract specifications.

Ensure files comply with customs regulations, FDA requirements, and FedEx contract specifications.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED. Two (2) years of business experience or two (2) years of college credits preferred.
Working knowledge of customs regulations, harmonized tariff schedules, and special tariff programs preferred.
Ability to analyze data and make sound decisions in a time-sensitive environment. Strong communication skills with internal and external customers.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple duties and deadlines.
Experience processing a high volume of information via image, hardcopy, phone, and fax to meet time schedules.
Data entry/keyboard experience and working knowledge of MS Office and email applications (Outlook) with multiple screens.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and interact with internal staff at all levels.
Preferred and Additional Details
Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM CT, with about two hours of overtime each day; some holidays and weekends may be required; remote option may apply.
Pay: $15.50/hr
