Program Director – Adolescent Residential Substance Use Treatment – Marion, NC
Insight Human Services is seeking a Program Director to launch and lead a clinically managed, medium-intensity ASAM 3.5 residential treatment program for adolescents. This 24/7 program supports youth with substance use disorders through stabilization, skill-building, family engagement, and long-term recovery planning.
We are looking for a hands-on, relationship-driven leader who is energized by building program culture, strengthening community partnerships, and guiding a multidisciplinary team serving adolescents with complex needs. This role blends clinical leadership, operational oversight, and external engagement, and plays a central role in shaping both the day-to-day environment and the long-term success of the program.
Minimum Qualifications
- Advanced behavioral health degree or license (e.g., LCAS/LCAS-A, CCS/ CSI or willingness to obtain)
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Experience with adolescent substance use treatment or residential services
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience overseeing operations of a licensed residential behavioral health program operating under NC Medicaid and DHHS regulations or experience with ASAM levels of care 3.0 and higher
Key Responsibilities
- Lead overall operations of an ASAM 3.5 program, balancing daily needs with long-term strategic goals
- Develop, implement, and monitor program policies, procedures, and workflows in alignment with clinical, regulatory, and adolescent-specificservicesbest practices and NC Medicaid clinical coverage requirements
- Recruit, support, supervise, and mentor clinical and residential staff; build and retain a strong multidisciplinary team
- Oversee admissions, discharges, utilization review, quality improvement activities, and incident response reporting
- Build and sustain referral and collaborative relationships with local community, DSS, DJJ, schools, hospitals, and managed care partners
- Monitor program performance, interpret data trends, and report required information to organizational leadership and payers
- Oversee coordination of educational services and maintain required system linkages for enrolled youth
