
Overview
The First Assistant will work closely with the Head Golf Professional to deliver an exceptional experience for the membership. This role will assume all responsibilities of the golf operations in the absence of the Head Professional. The First Assistant will be a leader amongst the Assistant Professionals, Shop Attendants and Outside Service Team and display the characteristics that demonstrate high level hospitality, such as: Passionate about the golf industry and providing the highest level of customer service Professional level communication, attentional to detail, and accountability Personal drive and devotion to advance their career Able to facilitate and work as a team for common goals Approachable, friendly personality Qualifications
PGA Member or PGA Associate in good standing (required) Previous private club experience preferred Strong leadership, communication, and member-relations skills Professional appearance and demeanor Strong computer skills including Golf Genius, Excel, and USGA GHIN systems Key Responsibilities
Execute the major member events such as Member/Guest, Member/Member which includes but not limited to leading the staff and handling all financials Managing daily golf operations and golf shop activities Lead and mentor golf shop and outside services staff Assist in hiring, training, and managing staff Assist with merchandising, inventory control, and special orders Assist Player Development Professional with instruction as needed Play golf with all demographics of membership as appropriate. Enforce club policies, rules, and etiquette in a professional manner Collaborate with the Head Golf Professional on long-term programming, strategic planning, and member engagement opportunities Benefits
