The Lead Superintendent will serve as the

senior field leader

across some of the firm's most challenging and visible projects. This role is responsible for overseeing all site operations while setting the standard for safety, quality, schedule, and subcontractor coordination.

Client Details Our client is a

Chicago‑based, large‑scale general contractor

recognized for delivering

high‑profile, complex, and one‑of‑a‑kind construction projects

throughout the Chicagoland area. Their work spans commercial interiors, workplace and office renovations, retail, storefronts, and specialty projects in dense urban and occupied environments.

Description Lead all on‑site construction activities for large‑scale and technically complex projects Own overall site strategy, sequencing, and execution from mobilization through closeout Develop, manage, and drive master project schedules and look‑ahead planning Direct and coordinate multiple Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, and field staff Manage subcontractor performance, manpower levels, and site logistics Enforce company safety standards and maintain a strong safety culture (OSHA compliance) Coordinate inspections, permitting, and quality control processes Proactively identify constructability issues, schedule risks, and site conflicts and drive solutions Serve as the primary on‑site representative to owners, architects, inspectors, and trade partners Partner closely with Project Managers and Operations leadership to ensure project success Mentor and develop field leadership to build long‑term bench strength

Profile 10+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction Demonstrated success leading

large‑scale, complex, or high‑visibility projects Strong background in commercial interiors, workplace/office, retail, or specialty construction Proven ability to manage multiple teams and large subcontractor scopes Deep knowledge of construction means, methods, and sequencing Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and schedules at an expert level Strong leadership presence with excellent communication and problem‑solving skills Proficiency with construction technology (Procore, scheduling tools, digital reporting) OSHA 30 certification required
