A respected construction management firm in the metro Detroit area is seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent to lead a high-profile, large-scale ground-up commercial project currently underway in Detroit. This is a critical leadership role for a seasoned field professional who excels in complex, tight site conditions and takes pride in delivering high-quality projects safely, on time, and on budget. About the Role The Senior Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all field operations from project start through closeout. This individual will lead on-site execution, manage subcontractors, enforce safety and quality standards, and serve as a key point of communication between the field, project management, ownership, and trade partners. This role requires strong leadership, exceptional communication skills, and proven experience managing large, complicated projects in dense or constrained environments. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage all on-site construction activities for large, ground-up commercial projects Oversee and coordinate daily operations across 5–27 subcontractors Maintain full accountability for safety, schedule, quality, and productivity Enforce OSHA and MIOSHA safety standards and company safety policies Lead weekly coordination and scheduling meetings with subcontractors and project teams Proactively identify and resolve field conflicts and schedule challenges Conduct inspections, enforce quality standards, and ensure compliance with project plans and specifications Maintain accurate site documentation and reporting Partner closely with Project Managers to align field execution with budgets, schedules, and project goals Build and maintain strong working relationships with owners, design teams, inspectors, and trade partners Qualifications 20+ years of construction experience, with significant time in a Superintendent or Senior Superintendent role Proven experience leading large-scale ground-up projects valued at $50M+ Demonstrated success managing complex, tight, or urban job sites Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to direct large subcontractor teams Deep knowledge of construction means and methods, sequencing, and site logistics Strong commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence Why This Opportunity Stands Out 401(k) with company match Free medical coverage Cash incentive if health coverage is declined Monthly vehicle and phone allowances Generous PTO + paid holidays Competitive salary with annual bonus potential
