Lead all preconstruction efforts for commercial projects, including estimating, budgeting, scheduling support, and constructability reviews from concept to GMP/contract execution. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and collaboration with owners, architects, engineers, and internal teams to ensure projects are set up for success.

Texas-based, employee-owned general contractor, specializing in commercial construction, design-build, and high-end interior finish-outs . The company has
completed over 2,000 projects and operates across Texas with offices in Dallas, Houston, and Austin.
They work with building owners, tenants, property managers, architects, and designers to deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions for
corporate interiors, industrial facilities, retail spaces, healthcare environments, and ground-up developments Description Key Responsibilities of a Director of Preconstruction| Construction | Austin, TX Establish processes and best practices for preconstruction activities. Oversee preparation of detailed cost estimates and budgets. Ensure accuracy and competitiveness of bids and proposals Develop and review preliminary project schedules. Coordinate with operations to align preconstruction plans with execution strategies. Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, architects, and engineers during preconstruction. Facilitate design meetings and ensure alignment with client goals.
Profile A successful Director of Preconstruction| Construction | Austin, TX Minimum of 5+ years of Estimating experience, ideally at a commercial general contractor Preferably have a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or Architecture or a related field Deep knowledge of estimating, budgeting, scheduling, and constructability analysis. Ability to align preconstruction strategies with overall project goals and company objectives. Extensive experience in
commercial construction preconstruction
(ground-up preferred). Track record of managing
large, complex projects
from concept through GMP. Familiarity with
design-build, CM-at-risk, and negotiated work
delivery methods. Excellent
communication and negotiation
skills for client and stakeholder engagement. Proficiency in
estimating software and scheduling tools
(e.g., Sage, Procore, Primavera).
