
Overview
Salary Range : $60-80,000 (or higher/negotiable based on experience)
Summary :
The Construction Superintendent is responsible for overseeing daily on-site construction activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards. This role leads subcontractor coordination, schedule management, and field problem-solving while maintaining strict compliance with OSHA safety regulations.
Responsibilities
Manage and maintain the overall construction schedule to ensure timely project completion.
Prioritize daily and long-term project activities to align with deadlines and resource availability.
Proactively identify, address, and resolve issues to prevent disruptions or delays.
Schedule, coordinate, and oversee subcontractor work to ensure quality and efficiency.
Install and maintain protective measures to safeguard existing finishes and surrounding areas.
Review approved drawings with on-site personnel to identify and resolve potential conflicts before work begins.
Prepare, submit, and track RFIs (Requests for Information) to clarify site conditions or necessary plan deviations.
Maintain and update redline drawings to accurately reflect field changes to approved plans.
Identify long-lead materials and equipment that may affect project cost or schedule.
Monitor daily job site activities and produce detailed daily progress reports.
Lead weekly progress meetings to review safety concerns, project status, and workforce needs.
Ensure compliance with OSHA 30 safety standards at all times.
Coordinate with local building inspectors and jurisdictional authorities to maintain compliance throughout all project phases.
Schedule and manage all required project inspections.
Qualifications
6-8 years of experience in construction project management.
OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification obtained within the past five years.
Prior federal or military construction project experience preferred.
Proven experience managing projects ranging from $1M to $20M in value.
Strong computer proficiency, including project management and documentation tools.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and project teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field preferred.
