
Overview
The Plateau Club is located in Sammamish, WA on the Sammamish Plateau. The club features an 18-hole golf course, a Northwest-style clubhouse, and a Recreation Center. It offers a family-focused environment with traditional country club amenities and staff that cater to the needs of members and their guests. The golf club provides opportunities across golf, restaurant, banquet and catering, turf, recreation center, and administrative positions.
The Position The Head Golf Professional will manage all aspects of the golf operation to deliver an exceptional golf experience through the use and training of Universal Product and Service Standards. Responsibilities include selection, training, development, and management of year-round and seasonal team members, maximizing the tee sheet, merchandising, building golf programs, and increasing memberships.
Qualifications, Education and/or Experience
High School diploma or equivalent
Maintain active classification in the PGA of America
Class A PGA Certification is preferred
Head Golf Professional experience is preferred but will consider Assistant Golf Professionals with a minimum of 2 years of assistant experience at a high-volume 18-hole facility
Positive and proactive supervisory, leadership, management, and coaching skills. Ability to support company decisions and to communicate to team members from the company perspective
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Thorough knowledge of ordering/purchasing, inventory control, budget management, and P&L accountability
Ability to multi-task while remaining focused on key objectives
Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Office, Golf Genius, Lightspeed
Willing to lead by positive example and “roll up sleeves”
Desire to grow and be challenged in the Head Golf Professional role as Oki Golf strives for continuous improvement
Ability to work within established guidelines and standards to ensure brand consistency for Oki Golf and the assigned property
Ability to work weekends and holidays, mornings, and evenings as business demands
Essential Responsibilities
Develop innovative ideas to continually deliver exceptional quality products and profit contributions
Ensure excellent guest experience by being responsive, following up, and following through on commitments
Efficient use of golf shop-related systems
Manage and oversee internal events for members
Coordinate external golf events with the Sales Team and ensure efficient, professional day-of tournament execution
Maintain and clean the golf cart fleet daily according to standards
Manage, maintain, and make merchandise recommendations to fit the facility demographic
Recruit, hire, and train Golf Shop, Player Assistant, and Guest Service team members per operating procedures; follow orientation processes
Ensure a safe work environment with OSHA/WISHA and company guidelines
Foster growth and development of team members
Lead by example; set performance benchmarks in motivation, ownership, and product quality
Hold team members accountable using position descriptions and clear expectations
Maintain open communication between golf shop and golf maintenance staff; coordinate outings to maximize guest experience
Manage monthly expenses to budget, minimize expenses and overtime
Conduct monthly Golf Shop merchandise inventory with a variance of less than 1%
Supervise and manage facility tee sheets to maximize play and identify additional revenue opportunities
Other tasks as assigned
Compensation and Benefits
Offered yearly salary range: 78,000.00 – 85,000.00 per year
Eligible for additional income via group/private golf lessons
Eligible for annual bonus equal to 10% of base salary (approximately 7,800.00 – 8,500.00)
Total possible yearly compensation range (not including lesson income): 85,800.00 – 93,500.00
*Annual bonus eligibility based on meeting company financial goals
