Experienced, creative problem solver focused on designing the look/feel/user experience of Carrier’s digital and physical product solutions spanning residential and commercial problem spaces. Key Responsibilities:

Drive and collaborate in all phases of design process from discovery research to design concepts and iteration, to formative evaluation and delivering final design details Design digital interfaces including dashboards, data visualizations, and system-driven UI patterns. Create wireframes, high-fidelity designs, and interactive prototypes to communicate with intent and validate solutions. Partner closely with product managers and engineers to shape solutions, define scope, and iterate throughout development. Partner with researchers to participate in discovery, usability testing, and validation. Champion and drive user research with utilities, dealers, technicians, and homeowners to inform your design work. Apply customer insights and data to guide decisions and improve outcomes. Balance user needs, technical feasibility, and business priorities in day-to-day design decisions. Translate complex requirements (telemetry, load shaping, TOU rates, device control), data, and constraints into clear, usable, scalable and aesthetically pleasing user experiences. Participate actively in agile ceremonies; adapt design approaches mid-sprint as constraints and insights evolve. Support quality assurance during and after sprints to ensure design intent is implemented accurately. Communicate design rationale clearly through documentation, specs, and async artifacts. Leverage Carrier’s Air Design System to work efficiently and consistently, identifying opportunities to improve the system and promote system adoption Integrate AI technologies where appropriate into your daily process to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of your design process Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and can successfully navigate complexity and ambiguity Act as a force multiplier by raising the quality of design through critique, collaboration, and example. Share your expertise with others, acknowledge when you don’t know the answer, and are eager to learn new methods, tools, and processes Have a “glass half-full” perspective and strive to make the most of any situation Excel at collaborating with cross-functional teams and communicating design intent and tradeoffs to effectively influence and persuade Required Qualifications:

Associates degree 4 + years of experience designing and shipping successful software products 4 + years of experience in designing complex or enterprise-scale software. 4 + years of expertise in modern design and prototyping tools 4 + years of proven ability to create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI with clear rationale. 1 + year of experience with AI design-related tools to help accelerate the design and creative process Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., Design, HCI, Interaction Design) or equivalent work experience. Experience in current AI tools related to design (Figma Make, Cursor, Lovable, etc.) Working knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React) to inform design decisions. Strong understanding of visual design fundamentals (color, typography, layout, hierarchy). Experience with energy, IoT devices, smart home platforms, or utility programs. Familiarity with OpenADR, IEEE 2030.5, or DERMS platforms. Prior work across hardware + software ecosystems. Experience designing for enterprise or operational tools is a strong plus. Benefits:

Work With Us | Carrier Corporate. The specific benefits available to any employee may vary depending on state and local laws and eligibility factors, such as date of hire and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements. This position is entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements. Pay Range

The annual salary for this position is $120,000–$168,000. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
