Estimator

to join their team in Austin, Texas. This role is essential in generating accurate material takeoffs, analyzing plans and specs, and supporting bid preparation from start to finish. Ideal for someone who thrives on precision, deadlines, and collaboration with both leadership and project managers.

What You'll Do as the Estimator:

Review bid invitations, plans, and specs to determine scope, scale, and material needs for upcoming projects

Perform accurate material takeoffs and document quantities using blueprints and bid documents

Track revisions throughout the project lifecycle, including addenda and change orders

Submit timely and complete takeoffs to project managers for review ahead of bid deadlines

Flag discrepancies or missing details in project documents and communicate with PMs

Log and track bid activity in SmartSheet and JobRunner, ensuring project data is complete and current

Request and maintain updated vendor pricing; research new flooring products and materials

Compile submittal packages for awarded projects

Stay informed on technical updates, tools, and product innovations through workshops and training

Collaborate with the president, CFO, and PMs on additional estimating or preconstruction support as needed

Must-Haves as the Estimator:

2+ years of experience estimating in construction, ideally with flooring or finishes

Familiarity with blueprint reading, specs analysis, and spatial calculations

Strong attention to detail and ability to meet bid deadlines

Proficiency in takeoff and bid tracking software (e.g., Adobe, SmartSheet, JobRunner)

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Comfort working independently and as part of a small, high-performing team

Nice-to-Haves as the Estimator:

Direct experience with commercial flooring materials and vendors

Prior use of JobRunner or similar bid management platforms

Knowledge of Austin-area general contractors and regional bid cycles
