
Overview
Schneider Electric is seeking a Field Service Representative. This site-based role focuses on servicing equipment supporting power distribution and critical power infrastructure. Travel to customer sites may be required, with some nonstandard hours. A 40-hour weekly guarantee plus overtime is typical.
Responsibilities
Pre-site, startup, repair, preventive maintenance, and field modification of equipment
Problem solving with customers, electricians, sales partners, technical support, and District Service teams
Completion of field service reports, expense reports, preventive maintenance, and startup data sheets
Collaboration with Manager and/or Regional Service Director to resolve complex escalated issues
Ongoing learning and training on various products in the field and in the classroom
On some days you may
Travel regionally for local customer support or countrywide travel, including overnight travel
Assist senior technicians and support Project Management on larger system start-ups
Collaborate with Project Managers on higher complexity projects
Act on behalf of the District Service Manager to resolve operational issues
Qualifications
An Associate’s degree, trade/vocational certification, Military training or similar electrical-related experience
Ability to read blueprints/schematics
Understanding of AC and DC power principles and related components
2+ years of field service repair and customer service with UPS systems, power distribution, switchgear, ATS, PDU, electrical or electro-mechanical equipment
2+ years in Field Services or equivalent industry experience
English proficiency for customer and team communication
Proficient in basic computer skills and Microsoft Office; ability to use company digital tools
Strong safety practices and adherence to safety procedures
Identify hazards and report safety matters
NFPA-70E or OSHA experience preferred
Safe driving and vehicle operation skills
Skill with test and diagnostic equipment
Experience reading and interpreting schematics and operation manuals
Ability to write service reports and respond to customer questions
Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks and lift up to 40 pounds
Work outdoors in varying conditions and in confined spaces
What we have for you Within the first 180 days, 8 weeks of in-person training at a state-of-the-art training facility in Dallas, TX with all expenses paid. After training, online courses continue and you will be paired with a local mentor for on-the-job onboarding.
