JOB SUMMARY MTG specializes in the design, installation, and service of commercial property technologies locally and nationally.
A Field Installer will work on job sites under the supervision of a Field Installation Technician or Service Technician to install, wire, test and repair various types of low-voltage and technology systems, including but not limited to data infrastructure, video surveillance, access control, fire alarm, paging and sound masking.
A Field Installer must excel in customer service skills to effectively communicate with clients, partners, other trades and fellow MTG team members.
The position reports directly to the Director of Labor Resources.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Read and understand blueprints and schematic diagrams
Install a variety of cable support hardware using various anchoring or attachment components
Install, terminate, test and label a variety of low-voltage cabling
Mount and connect a wide variety of low-voltage and technology system devices
Assemble and install equipment racks, cabinets and cable management hardware
Learn and adhere to all applicable codes and BICSI-recommended practices
Learn and adhere to all mandatory safety requirements and follow established safety practices
Willingly share knowledge and best trade practices with fellow employees
Perform other related duties as required or assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
High school graduate (minimum) plus related experience
Experience with low-voltage wiring in a commercial setting preferred
Strong mechanical aptitude, construction experience preferred
Capacity and willingness to learn and quickly grasp associate tasks, best trade practices and “The MTG Way.”
Ability to take direction and complete tasks with minimal supervision
Must be comfortable working at heights of 3-40 ft
Must be able to pass a drug test in this drug-free workplace setting
Ability to work nights when necessary
Some travel may be required
Must have a clean, valid driver’s license with dependable transportation

Regularly required to stand, walk, climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Occasionally required to sit
Regularly required to make fast, repetitive movements of the arms, wrists, hands and fingers
