The Role The Inside Sales Manager will lead and develop the inside sales and customer service teams across two portfolio companies. This is a hands-on, player-coach role in a high-volume, fast-paced industrial environment. You’ll oversee quoting, order management, and customer communications while partnering with field sales, engineering, and operations to deliver a seamless customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and develop inside sales and customer service teams
Manage high-volume quoting (400+ per month) and order flow (300+ per month)
Establish KPIs for turnaround time, accuracy, and customer satisfaction
Review technical specifications and ensure accurate pricing and configurations
Support distributors, representatives, and key accounts
Analyze quote-to-order conversion and team performance metrics
Drive process improvements across quoting, order entry, and customer communication
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field (technical degree preferred)
7+ years in inside sales, customer service, or technical sales within industrial manufacturing or automation
3+ years leading an inside sales or customer support team
Experience with CRM and ERP systems (Zoho, AS400, Salesforce, or similar)
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
