Member Service Representative
We are looking for a dedicated member service representative to join our team in Somerville, Massachusetts. In this contract to permanent position, you will play a key role in delivering excellent customer service to credit union members while handling financial transactions and inquiries. This role is perfect for someone with a passion for assisting clients and ensuring accuracy in daily operations. Responsibilities: Provide exceptional customer service to credit union members by addressing inquiries and resolving concerns. Process routine financial transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments with precision. Open new accounts for both new and existing members, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience. Promote and cross-sell credit union services, including electronic banking options and debit cards. Accept loan applications, process requests, and disburse approved loans in compliance with policies. Handle cash transactions, maintain accurate balances, and perform vault teller responsibilities. Ensure adherence to federal and state banking regulations, including Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering requirements. Assist with debit card processing, including ordering cards, reviewing activity, and addressing member concerns. Support inventory management and perform duties related to retail sales operations as needed. Take on additional tasks as assigned to support team operations. Requirements: Proven experience in customer service, preferably in a financial or retail setting. Strong cash handling skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Familiarity with banking regulations and compliance standards. Ability to promote and explain banking products and services effectively. Proficiency in processing financial transactions and account management. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with members professionally. Capability to handle sensitive financial data with confidentiality. High level of organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
