Middlesex County Office Of Financial Administration

Middlesex County is seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join the Office of Financial Administration. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and time management skills and thrive in a deadline-driven environment. Under the direction of the Financial Administrator and Chief Financial Officer, this position supports account payable operations, including invoice processing, vendor setup, and payment coordination. Responsibilities: Review and verify the accuracy and completeness of vendor invoices and supporting documentation. Match invoices to purchase orders and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. Process accounts payable transactions in accordance with County policies and procedures. Serve as the primary contact for County staff regarding invoice status, payment inquiries, and accounts payable procedures. Assist the Treasury Department with bill lists to ensure vendors are paid accurately and promptly. Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal departments. Identify opportunities to improve accounts payable processes and assist with implementing best practices. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Satisfactory completion of at least sixty (60) semester hour credits at an accredited college or university including a minimum of twelve (12) semester hour credits in accounting courses. Or two (2) years of experience in accounting or related field work. This position involves high-volume transaction processing, particularly around County meeting dates and payment deadlines, and requires the ability to manage completing priorities while maintaining accuracy. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a post-interview, employer-paid physical examination, drug screening, and background check, in accordance with applicable New Jersey and federal law. This position requires New Jersey residency in accordance with R.S. 52:14-7 (New Jersey First Act). The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $45,000,000-$55,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
