Assistant Sales Team Supervisor - Campus Store

This position assists the Sales Team Supervisor in overseeing the BYU Store Campus Store Sales Team, supporting hiring, training, staff development, labor management, POS operations, inventory movement, and customer service. Through daily customer interaction, the role contributes insights that drive continuous improvements in training, operations, and service excellence. The position helps supervise a large team of student employees and leaders, holding them accountable for financial performance, exceptional customer service, and cross-departmental support as needed.

What you'll do in this position:

1. Assist in Hiring, Training, and Developing Student Employees

Support hiring, onboarding, scheduling, evaluations, and ongoing development of student employees Provide leadership as Assistant Team Leader, ensuring consistent training, communication, and customer service standards Assist with store operations including opening/closing, coverage adjustments, documentation updates, and maintaining a safe, organized work environment 2. Point of Sale (POS) Terminal Operations

Ensure accurate POS operations, approve overrides, and correct non-routine register errors Handle sensitive financial transactions professionally while protecting customer dignity Support asset protection, cash handling procedures, inventory accuracy, and cycle counts 3. Staff and Supervise Customer Service and Gift Wrap Desk

Assist in staffing and supervising customer service and gift wrap desks during all store hours Train staff on special services (gift wrap, imprinting, special orders) and coordinate supplies Answer and direct phone inquiries; support holiday gift wrap setup and takedown What qualifies you for this role:

Required

A firm commitment to the mission of BYU. BA/BS or 2 years of previous experience in the retail industry relating to sales, customer service and training. Physical Exam and Lift Test Required

Physical Effort

Moderate - Physical effort represented by frequent handling of medium weight objects (approx. 20-50 lbs.) and materials, or use of medium weight hand tools. May require climbing and working from ladders or in awkward positions.

Environment - Rare presence of abnormal variations in temperature and exposure to outside condition

Preferred

BA/BS or 4 Years of previous experience in the retail industry relating to sales, customer service and/or training What we offer in return:

Pay Grade: 49

Typical Starting Pay: $22.75 - $29.50
