Produce Specialist Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages customer return. Assist the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals while ensuring quality assurance standards are met. Create a welcoming environment by responding to customer inquiries about products sold within the department and throughout the store. Gain in-depth knowledge of products to make informed suggestions and assist customers effectively. Assist in preparing produce platters and inform customers of current specials. Recommend items to fulfill customer needs. Prepare, package, label, and manage inventory efficiently. Inspect products for quality and freshness, taking necessary actions on subpar items. Label, stock, and track department merchandise rigorously. Report discrepancies in product ordering and shipping to the department manager. Maintain a positive attitude to foster a team-oriented environment. Stay informed about current and upcoming seasonal promotions and advertisements. Ensure proper temperatures in refrigeration units are upheld and documented accordingly. Reinforce safety initiatives by adhering to safety protocols and identifying risks. Practice preventive maintenance on equipment and report repair needs promptly. Notify management regarding customer or employee accidents and any safety risks or illegal activities. Cooperate effectively in a fast-paced, sometimes challenging environment. Manage conflicts positively and non-confrontationally. Act with integrity regarding all customer and business information. Follow directions while seeking assistance when necessary to resolve issues. Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults. Must be capable of performing essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. Qualifications: Ability to thrive in stressful situations. Effective communication skills. Basic math aptitude (counting, addition, subtraction). Possess a current food handlers permit upon hiring. Desired Experience: Previous retail experience.
