Production Designer , reporting to the

Senior Director of Brand,

to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations.

As a Production Designer at Vast, you will help ensure our work is delivered with clarity, precision, and consistency, from internal workspaces and executive presentations to mission-critical reviews, events, and external-facing environments. You will collaborate closely with designers, engineers, marketing, and leadership to translate complex aerospace systems into accurate, production-ready visual experiences, while maintaining a high standard of craft and execution through final delivery.

Responsibilities:

Design and deliver production-ready physical and digital environments, including interiors, exhibits, presentations, and branded spaces Translate creative direction into clear, detailed layouts, drawings, and specifications suitable for fabrication and installation Produce and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including plans, elevations, sections, renderings, and graphic packages Partner closely with engineering, facilities, and manufacturing teams to ensure technical accuracy, feasibility, and alignment through execution Coordinate with vendors, fabricators, and installers to ensure design intent, quality, and timelines are maintained through production Build and maintain production templates, standards, and workflows that enable consistent, efficient delivery Manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining high attention to detail, quality, and schedule Ensure brand consistency across environments, graphics, and physical assets Participate in site walks, installations, and on-site design support as needed Iterate efficiently based on feedback, evolving requirements, and mission-driven timelines Minimum Qualifications:

6+ years of professional experience as a Production Designer, Environmental Designer, or in a closely related role Strong portfolio demonstrating production-ready design work for physical environments, branded spaces, or complex systems Proficiency with industry-standard design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Google Workspace, or similar Preferred Skills & Experience:

Experience working on technically complex projects, such as aerospace, architecture, industrial design, or advanced manufacturing Ability to translate engineering or technical information into clear, accurate visual design Experience coordinating with fabricators, vendors, and installation teams Strong understanding of materials, finishes, fabrication methods, and production constraints Proven ability to create clear, accurate design documentation for production handoff Strong verbal and visual communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across disciplines Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Comfort working with limited information, ambiguity, and evolving requirements High attention to detail and a logical, structured approach to problem-solving Additional Requirements:

Willingness to travel occasionally to support installations, reviews, or program milestones Willingness to work extended hours or weekends to support critical deadlines Ability to obtain required export control authorizations, as applicable Pay Range:

Production Designer II: $98,400 - $139,680 Senior Production Designer: $114,800 - $162,960
