In- Room Dining Manager
– Mandarin Oriental New York is looking for an In-Room Dining Manager to join our Food and Beverage team. Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is the award-winning owner and operator of luxury hotels, resorts and residences located in prime destinations around the world. Mandarin Oriental New York features 244 guestrooms and suites with premium amenities, including MO Lounge, all-day dining, a spa, fitness center and event spaces.
Based at the Mandarin Oriental New York within the Food and Beverage Department in New York City, the In-Room Dining Manager is responsible for the efficient operation of the department and meeting guests’ expectations for quality of product and service, while ensuring all standards and procedures are followed and consistent. The In-Room Dining Manager reports to the Director of In Room Dining.
As In Room Dining Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties:
Support the company’s philosophy and culture through the Pillars of Legendary Quality Experiences to ensure guest satisfaction and the achievement of the Mission Statement; apply Departmental Legendary Quality Experiences, Guiding Principles and D.E.L.I.G.H.T as part of ensuring guest satisfaction and the achievement of the Mission Statement.
Provide leadership and support for assistant managers, order takers, servers and mini bar attendants; train, evaluate, and schedule Room Service staff; perform administrative duties (scheduling, payroll and inventory, stock replenishment); inspect Room Service areas to maintain service standards.
Respond to guest inquiries, coordinate special arrangements, enforce hotel guidelines and policies, carry out disciplinary actions as necessary, implement new menus and promotions (including holiday and special event promotions); provide instruction and guidance for guest and employee safety in emergencies.
Respond to guest questions; provide guest assistance and information in public areas; attend pre-conference and post-conference meetings; conduct daily departmental meetings to engage and motivate staff; manage event orders and other special IRD events and junkets; ensure timely delivery and proper setup/breakdown of events; communicate group information/changes to relevant hotel colleagues; maintain an active trace system for guest history and preferences; audit checks when necessary; ensure all guest orders and amenities are delivered timely and in line with company standards.
Maintain compliance with FLHSS standards; perform other duties as assigned by the Director of In-Room Dining; report suspicious persons or activities and hazardous conditions; understand and follow laws and guidelines for beverage service.
Ensure knowledge of the Reservation System and InfoGenesis POS system; verify accuracy of menus (current, correct, clear, and presentable); ensure menu descriptions are up to date; assist with check reconciliation for voids, promotions and discounts; ensure checks are settled accurately.
Develop monthly forecast; monitor department payroll; review and approve departmental PAFs; attend scheduled food and beverage meetings; revise standard procedures for the department as necessary.
As In Room Dining Manager, We Expect From You
Reading, writing and oral proficiency in English; willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays; maintain clean and healthy personal hygiene and grooming; work in a safe, prudent and organized manner; relate to all levels of guests and management.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in F&B management or supervisory experience in a similar position in a luxury hotel property; ability to handle multiple tasks; superior communication and organization skills; ability to consistently delight and satisfy guests.
Regularly required to stand; frequently walk; occasionally sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; talk or hear; ability to lift 25+ pounds.

Salary And Benefits
Salary $66,000 to $75,000, commensurate with experience
