Enrollment Director - Director of Strategic Enrollment and Retention Initiatives POSITION DETAILS York College, founded in 1966, is a center of academic excellence in the heart of Jamaica, Queens. One of the eleven senior colleges in The City University of New York, the College’s mission is to enrich students' lives by fostering an environment where they’ll grow into passionate and engaged learners. York’s academic programs are housed in three schools: The School of Arts & Sciences, The School of Business and Information Systems, and The School of Health Sciences and Professional Programs. Over sixty baccalaureate programs from across a variety of disciplines provide students with opportunities to study liberal arts, sciences, and professional programs. Serve as a strategic advisor and thought partner to the Vice President for Enrollment Management & Retention, providing research, analysis, and recommendations related to enrollment, retention, and student success initiatives. Guide the design, coordination, execution, and evaluation of major initiatives that advance institutional enrollment and retention priorities. Execute new initiatives, recommend and help train on new systems, and implement short and long-term projects. Work closely with Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar, Advisement and Testing; review processes and recommend improvements for efficiency. Direct and implement the Strategic Enrollment Management Plan. Partner with Advisement and Enrollment areas to increase funnels, processing and enrollment. Oversee high-impact divisional and cross-divisional projects, ensuring clear goals, timelines, deliverables, and assessment measures. Lead and facilitate collaboration across academic and administrative units to advance shared enrollment and student success goals. Support institutional planning by contributing to short- and long-term enrollment strategies aligned with College and University priorities. Steer the strategic use of Slate and related enrollment technologies, identifying enhancements, guiding implementation, and ensuring alignment with institutional goals. Establish governance, timelines, and success measures for Slate-related initiatives to promote continuous improvement and consistent use across the division. Provide strategic direction and data-driven insights to recruitment leadership and counselors to refine territory plans, enhance the institution’s position in key markets, and improve engagement and yield outcomes. Guide recruitment leadership and staff in leveraging data and analytics to personalize outreach and improve conversion across the enrollment funnel. Ensure effective use of communication channels—including email campaigns, events, and virtual engagement—through collaboration with enrollment, marketing, and communications teams. Monitor initiative outcomes, prepare executive-level summaries, and communicate progress, risks, and recommendations to Enrollment Management leadership. Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and eight years' related experience required. The following qualifications are strongly preferred: A Master’s degree and 8 years of supervisory admissions and/or retention experience in a higher education setting preferred. Demonstrated ability to meet enrollment targets. Direct experience with student recruitment. Experience with higher education policies, practices, and administration. Excellent written, oral communication, interpersonal and presentation skills. Evidence of effective team building. Evidence of ability to work independently as well as collaboratively. Competence in a range of computer applications (e.g. internet research, MS Office, social media); Knowledge of admissions application and CRM systems; experience with Slate is highly desirable, experience with CUNYfirst.
