Salary $110,000/yr plus negotiable sign on bonus and relocation assistance The ER is a 12-bed unit that provides direct patient care to critically ill adult patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization. The Director is responsible for the overall operation and direction of patient care in the Emergency Care setting. Responsibilities
Manages staff members in the Emergency Department Consults with staff, physicians, CNO, and COO on nursing problems and interpretation of hospital policies to ensure patient needs are met. Maintains performance improvement activities within the department. Assists in formulating budget. Responsible for staff education and development. Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization. Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives. Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives. Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinates and directs internal/external audits. Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth. Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols. Minimum Qualifications
Education
Master's degree preferred Applicable work experience may be used in lieu of education Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) required one month from hire date Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) six months from hire date Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) six months from hire date License
Registered Nurse licensed to work in the state of Kentucky Must-Haves
2-3 years of leadership experience in the Emergency Services Department Operations experience i.e budget Must have experience in staff development and continuing education initiatives
