
Employee Relations & Conflict Resolution
Support and manage employee relations issues, providing guidance and support to staff and management. Assist in resolving workplace conflicts through effective communication, mediation, and counseling support. Conduct interviews and gather information on employee relations matters such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other concerns; inform HR Director when additional investigation is required. Documents and follows up on employee concerns, ensuring confidentiality and consistency with company policy. Labor Relations
Manage workplace relationships between employees, management and unions. Handles routine labor relations and human resource inquiries related to policies, procedures, and bargaining agreements; refers complex matters to appropriate management staff and/or HR Director. Ensure compliance with relevant labor laws and regulations in US and Canada. Benefits Administration & Compliance
Assist in the administration of employee benefits programs (health, dental, vision, leaves, etc.) Provide support for benefits enrollment, changes, and employee inquiries. Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations (ERISA, COBRA, ACA, etc.) and assist in annual reporting in the US and Canada. Compliance Reporting
Prepare and submit require reports for US and Canadian operations including OSHA logs and Worker's Compensation claims, Affordable Care Act (ACA) reporting, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO-1) reports, 401k audits, and other required reporting. Monitor deadlines and ensure timely submission of all mandated documentation, including required postings at all locations in US and Canada. HR Audits & Reporting
Conduct regular internal HR audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. Ensure and maintain accurate employee records and HR databases. Other Responsibilities
Develop and implement strategic HR initiatives that align with company goals. Coordinate talent acquisition strategies to meet workforce needs. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in human resources, labor relations, or related field required. At least three years of proven experience in employee relations, labor relations and HR management roles preferred. Knowledge of Canadian Labor Code preferred
