Senior Windows Server Integrator Contract-to-Hire Opportunity Our client is a top-tier technology integrator that provides exceptional technical, engineering, intelligence, and enterprise IT solutions. This role is a contract-to-hire opportunity and candidates must be willing to work on a W2 basis and convert to full-time employment after the contract period. $70.00 to $78.00/hr. W2 Key Responsibilities: Be an integral part of the team at the DOT HQ in Washington, DC, working a later shift ending between 5 PM and 7 PM. Participate in a 24x7 on-call escalation rotation once every 2 to 3 months to support server infrastructure. Identify and implement automation and scripting solutions to enhance service delivery. Oversee system monitoring, ensuring hardware and system integrity while reviewing logs and scheduled jobs. Act as an escalation point for complex application support and troubleshooting. Manage the provisioning, patching, and overall management of the server environment, including vulnerability remediation. Provide technical expertise to minimize service degradation and restore services during outages. Conduct root cause analysis and manage problems within Windows systems and tools. Advance processes by creating solutions for recurring issues and enhancing documentation. Support the integration of new enterprise systems and engineering solutions. Create and maintain thorough system documentation for technologies, detailing installation, configuration, and troubleshooting processes. Experience Requirements: Proven experience managing environments of 2000+ servers across multiple field sites. Ability to lead cross-team troubleshooting efforts using a multi-discipline approach. Extensive knowledge of multi-vendor server operating systems. Demonstrated expertise in enterprise Windows operations and engineering. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Server administration and knowledge of Windows Server 2019 to 2022. Expert-level scripting skills with PowerShell, VBScript, and Microsoft Graph. In-depth experience with VMware vSphere and Hyper-V virtualization technologies. Senior-level knowledge of Active Directory and Microsoft Entra. Experience in performing root cause analysis and identifying risk mitigation strategies. Strong collaboration skills with exceptional interpersonal abilities. Experience in a dynamic ITSM support environment. Familiarity with IT Service Management services delivered to the US Government (preferred). Preferred certifications include Microsoft Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, Azure Fundamentals, Azure Administrator Associate, and others. AWS or Azure cloud certifications are also preferred. Knowledge of DISA STIG and CIS Benchmarks for Microsoft Windows servers (preferred). Experience with Intune and Microsoft Intune/SCCM/MECM co-management (preferred). Understanding of PKI technologies, including DigiCert and Sectigo (preferred). Additional professional IT or Project Management certifications (preferred). Education Requirements: Relevant Microsoft and cloud certifications, including VMware certifications. Google certifications related to Google Workspace are beneficial. Other professional IT or Project Management certifications are encouraged.
