
Director – Head of Derivative Settlements
Global investment banking client seeks an experienced professional to serve as the Head of Derivative Settlements. The individual will lead a team of approximately 15 professionals supporting post-trade operations for the Capital Markets derivative trading business. Responsibilities include trade settlements, process improvements, risk management, and fostering a collaborative culture.
Base pay range : $180,000 – $225,000 per year
Key Responsibilities
Manage and develop a team of ~15 operations staff supporting post‑trade processing for derivatives.
Provide strategic direction, mentorship, and performance oversight to ensure team success and engagement.
Promote a culture of transparency, accountability, and operational discipline.
Oversee timely settlement of trades executed by the trading desk and external clients.
Track and resolve cash and securities breaks, working closely with trade support and reconciliation teams.
Ensure all standard settlement instructions (SSIs) are validated and released appropriately.
Monitor and manage settlement risk and exposure across products and counterparties.
Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) and system rollouts with internal stakeholders and technology partners.
Draft, review, and maintain all operational documentation, including team training materials.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial services, with significant exposure to derivative trade settlement and cash management.
Experience managing operations teams in a high‑volume, fast‑paced capital markets environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and SWIFT messaging systems.
Client Series 99 license required.
