Broadband Hospitality, a leading provider of hospitality interactive application development and technology services, has an immediate opportunity for a
Low Voltage Sales Engineer .
The job involves a mix of engineering duties during quotation, specification, and design phases of our low-voltage projects, as well as supervision and guidance for our low-voltage install team (internal and outsourced) during project execution. This position works closely with the Director of Operations and the Sales Engineering Team.
Broadband Hospitality averages 40+ new construction low-voltage/cabling projects annually, primarily in the hospitality industry, each with 300-400 cable pulls per project. Responsibilities include project scheduling, resource management, cable installation, verification, certification, and project closure. Up to 15 - 25% of travel will be required.
Key Responsibilities
Review, validate, and refine
Bills of Materials
to ensure alignment with project scope and technical requirements.
Conduct on-site surveys at hotel properties to assess existing infrastructure and prepare for IT service migration from one vendor to another.
Provide technical expertise in RF and low-voltage systems, including TV services, Ethernet cabling, fiber optic networks, and related network technologies.
Evaluate and document telecom infrastructure, including
66-block
and
110-block
terminations.
Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and vendors to design and recommend technical solutions.
Identify potential risks, gaps, or cost-saving opportunities during the planning phase.
Develop engineering documentation including floor plans, schematics/wiring diagrams and details, riser diagrams, equipment rack assemblies/details, interconnecting diagrams, equipment installations, and test plans for facility low voltage installation projects.
Support the sales team in creating accurate proposals and scopes of work.
Occasionally assist in troubleshooting or technical guidance during migration and deployment phases.
Travel to hotel properties as needed (estimated 15–25% travel).
Required Qualifications
Strong knowledge of
RF systems
and
low-voltage wiring
practices.
Hands-on experience with
Ethernet ,
fiber optic , and
network technology
deployments.
Familiarity with
telecom infrastructure , including 66-blocks and 110-blocks.
Ability to read, interpret, and create technical diagrams, schematics, and BOMs.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
4+ years’ experience in managing cabling projects
Capable of creating As-Builts from various drawing programs to create diagrams for cable pulls, landing points, etc.
Experience in the
hospitality industry
or large-scale property IT infrastructure projects.
Knowledge of
hospitality TV systems
(e.g., coax distribution, IPTV).
Understanding of IT service migration processes and vendor cutovers.
