Job Title Assistant Property Manager, Multifamily

Job Description Summary The Assistant Property Manager is responsible for maintaining our communities to a market‑ready standard, ensuring a high level of service at all times, and building and motivating high‑performing teams to maximize property performance.

Essential Job Duties

Ensuring the smooth running of our community in a fast‑paced environment.

Assist the Property Manager with overall operations including maintenance, capital improvements, lease administration, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, collections, evictions, vacancy anticipation, marketing, lease renewals, service contracts, expense control, and audits.

Assist the Property Manager with providing superior customer service and communication to residents and prospects to enhance satisfaction, increase renewals, revenue, reputation, and profitability.

Complete lease/renewal paperwork to ensure compliance with company standards.

Track and evaluate advertising and all client traffic.

Assist the team by maintaining and modeling the Cushman & Wakefield mission to be the best national management company.

Assist the Property Manager with day‑to‑day operations of the entire on‑site team, ensuring policies and procedures are followed.

Maintain effective on‑site staff through interviewing, hiring, and coaching as needed.

Maintain residents' files in accordance with company standards.

Maintain a positive living environment for residents through prompt conflict resolution and consistent follow‑up.

Manage and maintain all aspects of overall community budget and finances.

Work with leasing staff to ensure that leasing/marketing goals are being met.

Competencies

Effective communication and customer service skills.

Computer literate, including Microsoft Office Suite and internet navigation skills.

General office, bookkeeping and sales skills with excellent oral and written communication skills.

Determine leasing opportunities for staff and work on goal setting to improve performance.

Supervise day‑to‑day operations of the team, ensuring policies and procedures are followed.

Be able to manage a team.

Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Important Education

Bachelor’s Degree preferred

High School Diploma, GED, Technical or Vocational school required

Important Experience

3+ years of Property Management experience

1+ year of Management experience

Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment, routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The role requires regular travel between properties in varying weather conditions.

Physical Demands Employees may need to stand and walk for extended periods, ascend and descend staircases, ladders, and step stools, and travel outside between buildings. The job requires standing or sitting for 85% of the time, operating office machinery, and lifting or moving objects up to 25 pounds.

The compensation range for this position is $26.35–$31.00 per hour. The company will not pay less than minimum wage.
