Job Responsibilities
Under minimal supervision performs human resources and business activities in the School of the Earth, Ocean & Environment (SEOE ) and the Baruch Institute to include: (1) coordinating all personnel activities consisting of faculty, TFAC , staff, emeritus faculty, instructors, post-docs, and undergraduates; (2) Serve as liaison to International Student and Scholar Support (ISSS ) to process all visa requests, solve problems for international faculty and staff, and assist with paperwork in connection with international visitors.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities • Knowledge of laws, regulations and policies relevant to the University of South Carolina and College of Arts and Sciences. • Ability to effectively plan and organize work activities and prioritize task completion according to schedules and goals. • Ability to communicate effectively with the public. • Ability to exercise judgement and discretion in interpreting and applying policies and procedures. • Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning departmental business. • Ability to train other employees. • Must be dependable. Minimum and Additional Requirements
Requires a bachelor's degree in a job related field and 1 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
