Position: Financial Service Technical Administrator (Remote)

Position Status:

Non-exempt (12 month full-time position)

Work Hours:

Monday through Friday days

Financial Aid Director

Position Summary The successful Financial Aid Technical Administrator will:

Provide a high level of support for Financial Aid services.

Display excellent customer service skills in every interaction.

Process return to Title IV transactions and support functions.

Review Financial Aid business processes and compare them with the Banner system to determine functionality gaps, then work with internal stakeholders to identify appropriate changes and modifications.

This position is best suited for someone who prefers a fast‑paced environment, adapts to change, is highly organized, actively engages with all customers, and is willing to develop new skills.

Additional Responsibilities

Perform revisions to financial aid awards according to federal, state, and Bryant & Stratton College requirements, including changes in enrollment status, requests for changes in award, and other special revision projects. Monitor individual student awards, resolve data conflicts, and/or over‑awards.

Process drops.

Use Banner and other third‑party systems (CPS, COD, and NSLDS) to report or correct student/parent information listed erroneously on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or as a result of being selected for verification by the Department of Education.

Follow up on all items preventing or delaying the awarding process to ensure students’ financial aid files are complete and ready to be originated and disbursed at or before the end of the semester. This includes contacting external and internal departments.

Report to the Financial Services Director & Manager any activity or incident that may not be in compliance with all state and federal regulations or system guidelines.

Determine lost institutional grants and scholarships.

Check direct loan originations prior to submission, correct rejected records, reconcile Pell variances, and correct Pell POPs.

Review conditional students that don’t possess GEDs or diplomas or those who have not submitted them.

Monitor tracking requirements, run month‑end fund status, track and monitor all students’ awards to ensure funds are accurately received on a timely basis.

Assist/monitor processing reports, including but not limited to Monday Morning report.

Review FA Census during the 2‑week span in attendance for Title VI aid and for all first‑year or first‑term students receiving loans for the first time.

Assist in training new staff, maintain high customer service standards in the area of Financial Aid, promote communication and initiate training internally and among various Bryant & Stratton departments regarding student financial practices, policy interpretation, problem resolution, to improve operating efficiencies and service while complying with Bryant & Stratton policy and procedures and state and federal law.

Develop and implement any needed corrective action plan based upon quality assurance reviews and internal/external audits.

Manage multiple projects and possess a team‑oriented approach to problem solving; collaborate with other offices in the College and work with a diverse population.

Work independently with little direction; meet schedules and timelines. Familiarity with database concepts, reporting strategies, and Mythics. Strong computing skills in a PC environment (Access, Excel, MS‑Word, and PowerPoint).

Good understanding of student financial services process; ability to design processes and develop tools to promote greater office productivity, reduce errors, and improve the enrollment process.

Excellent communication skills and the demonstrated ability to serve as liaison between technical and non‑technical staff.

Collaborate with Financial Aid Director, IT and other departments to resolve programmatic issues, implement system enhancements, and establish production schedules.

Evaluate current financial aid policies and procedures and make recommendations for policy revisions to enhance process improvements through the use of Banner financial aid applications and functionality.

Work with the Financial Aid Manager, DOA and IT on the annual "New Year Roll" to obtain and coordinate feedback from the Directors of Financial Aid and perform Banner set‑up; assist in the development of quality control over the process.

Complete any other duties as assigned.

Strong commitment to customer service and excellent written and verbal communication.

Assess students’ needs over the phone or via email.

Energetic, personable, and a positive attitude are a must; highly organized while working in a fast‑paced environment with capacity to multi‑task while maintaining attention to detail.

Be flexible to changing processes while proactively seeking solutions and problem‑solving.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required, and must not be in default of a federal student loan.

Familiarity with R2T4 processes.

Three years’ experience with Banner.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.

Ability to work some overtime.

Background Check or Licensing Requirements:

This position requires the successful completion of a criminal background check.

Salary:

$46,000 per year ($22.12 per hour). This position is eligible for overtime.

Salary is a good faith estimate of the base pay for this position. The selected candidate’s actual base pay for this role will take into account a wide range of non‑discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Information about the total compensation package for this position will be provided during the interview process.
