Position: Financial Service Technical Administrator (Remote) Position Status: Non‑exempt (12 month full‑time position)

Work Hours: Monday through Friday

Reports To: Financial Aid Director

Location: Remote

Position Summary The successful Financial Aid Technical Administrator will provide a high level of support for Financial Aid services, display excellent customer service skills, process Title IV transactions, review business processes against Banner, and work with stakeholders to identify improvements. The role suits someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, adapts to change, is highly organized, engages with customers, and is willing to learn new skills.

Additional Responsibilities

Performs revisions to financial aid awards according to federal, state, and college requirements.

Monitors individual student awards, resolves data conflicts, and manages over‑awards.

Processes Drops.

Uses Banner and third‑party systems (CPS, COD, NSLDS) to correct student data.

Follows up on items preventing the awarding process, coordinating with external and internal departments.

Reports to the Financial Services Director & Manager on compliance activities.

Creates lost TAP list.

Determines lost institutional grants and scholarships.

Checks Direct Loan originations, corrects rejected records, reconciles Pell variances.

Reviews conditional students missing GEDs or diplomas.

Monitors tracking requirements, runs month‑end fund status, and tracks all students’ awards.

Assists/monitors processing reports, e.g., Monday Morning report.

Reviews FA Census during the 2‑week span for Title VI Aid.

Reviews FA Census for first‑year or first‑term loan recipients.

Assists in training new staff; maintains high customer service standards; promotes communication and training among departments.

Develops corrective action plans based on quality assurance reviews and audits.

Manages multiple projects, collaborates with other offices, and works with a diverse population.

Works independently with little direction; meets schedules and timelines; familiar with database concepts, reporting strategies, and Mythics.

Strong computing skills in a PC environment (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Good understanding of student financial services processes; designs processes and tools to improve productivity.

Excellent communication skills; serves as liaison between technical and non‑technical staff.

Works collaboratively with the Financial Aid Director, IT, and other departments to resolve issues, implement system enhancements, and establish production schedules.

Evaluates current policies and recommends revisions to enhance processes using Banner.

Works with the Financial Aid Manager, DOA, and IT on the annual “New Year Roll.”

Completes any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; must not be in default on a federal student loan.

Familiarity with R2T4 processes.

Internet savvy with multiple browsers.

3 years’ experience with Banner.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.

Ability to work some overtime.

Background Check This position requires a background check.
