Responsibilities: Model the 3As of Friendly: acknowledge, assist, and appreciate our customers. Promote the store's Corporate Brands to enhance customer experience. Foster a culture of trust and respect among associates. Create an inviting atmosphere by answering questions about products sold in the department and throughout the store. Acquire and maintain extensive knowledge of products offered in the department to make informed recommendations. Assist in the preparation of produce platters and trays for customers. Inform customers about current produce specials and promotions. Recommend items to ensure customers find what they want and need. Prepare, package, label, and manage inventory of produce items effectively. Inspect products for quality and freshness, taking action as needed. Label, stock, and manage department merchandise inventory accurately. Report discrepancies in product ordering and shipping to the department manager. Maintain a positive attitude and engage with customers actively. Stay informed on present and future promotions, including seasonal and special ads. Ensure proper temperature maintenance in coolers and display cases, completing necessary logs. Reinforce safety protocols, comply with procedures, and report any unsafe conditions to management. Conduct preventive maintenance and notify the relevant manager of any equipment needing repair. Report any customer or employee incidents to management promptly. Communicate any safety risks or illegal activities, including robbery or theft, to store management. Manage conflicts in a calm, cooperative manner. Uphold honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information. Seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business-related issues. Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults through direct interaction. Perform all essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation. Qualifications: Ability to handle stressful situations effectively. Strong communication skills. Basic math skills (counting, addition, and subtraction). Must obtain a current food handler's permit once employed. Desired Experience: Previous retail experience in a comparable position. Ability to communicate in a second language (speaking, reading, and/or writing).
