Summary The Assistant Manager – TPL Sales & Operations position is responsible for all duties related to inbound and export 3PL freight forwarding operations, supervising and troubleshooting the entire 3PL freight forwarding operation group, efficiently supporting weekly and monthly closing reports, monitoring AR and AP. Additionally, this position will lead and assist various projects as required.
Responsibilities
General 3PL Operations (Inbound, Outbound, In‑land and warehouse/distribution)
Oversee the transportation of freight and ensure complete customer satisfaction by facilitating timely and accurate communication
Provide guidance and direction to Freight Forwarding Operation team on operational decisions based on immediate requirements and urgent transportation
Liaise with customers, suppliers and ocean carriers, inland transportation companies to ensure that a premium level of customer service is always present
Accurately manage and maintain departmental operational tasks such as accounting, reporting and records keeping in accordance with internal policies and state and federal regulations
Manage accounts to retain existing relationships and grow share of business
Supervise Operation team and troubleshoot
Lead, coach, enforce, empower and direct reports to perform and achieve in line with company values and strategy, and department goals adhering to company SOP and policies
Recommend and implement strategies to continually improve department performance
Communicate pending work and/or unresolved problems to the following personnel
Prioritize and delegate work tasks among the team members
Customer Services and Client Management
Drive performance improvement of operation and customer relations to achieve KPIs
Ensure that all personnel provide a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers
Ensure that all customer inquiries are responded to promptly and professionally
New Accounts Operation set‑up support and Competitive Analysis
Provide operation set‑up support for newly awarded 3PL freight forwarding business
Build customer relationships as operation leader for new accounts
Support the business development related teams and contribute to opportunity qualification and related solutions design and commercial strategy
Compensation $80,000‑$90,000 per year (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selected)

Education & Experience
Bachelor Degree Required
6 years of direct experience in Freight Forwarding, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, and Accounting/Finance Required
7 years of direct experience in Freight Forwarding, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, and Accounting/Finance Preferred
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit in front of a desk and/or in front of the computer for long periods
Repetitive use of hand/grasping product, writing, and typing
Stand/walk
