My client is seeking a Structural Designer with a solid background in structural engineering to assist with the design, coordination, and delivery of structural systems across a range of projects. It is well suited for a technically focused professional who prefers hands-on design work and enjoys collaborating with project stakeholders throughout the design and construction process.Ideally someone with residential or commercial experience.
The Structural Designer will contribute to early project support, permitting coordination, design documentation, and construction-phase assistance, helping ensure that structural concepts are clearly documented and effectively carried through to execution.
Responsibilities
Prepare and develop structural design drawings, details, and documentation for permitting and construction purposes. Support the development of practical, buildable structural solutions. Assist with interpreting and communicating structural design intent during construction. Participate in pre-construction efforts, including preparation of permitting materials. Coordinate with local authorities and regulatory agencies to respond to comments and required revisions. Track permitting-related items and support resolution efforts with project teams. Provide design clarification and technical support during construction as needed. Participate in occasional site visits and milestone reviews to observe installations and confirm alignment with design intent. Identify potential construction or coordination challenges early and communicate recommendations to the team. Assist in developing and maintaining standard structural details, documentation, and best practices. Contribute to improving consistency, quality, and efficiency in structural design deliverables.
