Pay Rate:
$16/hour
Hours:
Part-time; irregular schedule; students should not exceed 20 hours per week when combined with all on-campus employment; students will be contacted when content
opportunities arise; students will be selected on a first-come, first-serve basis while supporting equitable access to opportunities.
Additional Details: This role will not offer regular, consistent employment hours. Students are signing up to be added to a cohort of first-generation or limited-income students who may be asked to support Office marketing projects, speaking engagements, campus programs, and other as-needed supports. Ideal for undergraduate and graduate students who do not have existing on-campus employment. Students should be able to speak to first-generation or limited-income identities. The Office of First-Generation Student Success may support students obtaining a U.S. social security number; however, students may not engage in paid opportunities until a social security number is received. About First-Generation Student Success:
First-Generation Student Success is a new initiative at Babson College, building upon existing
programming and resources across campus offices and groups. First-Generation Student Success falls within Babson College Student Success, which takes an integrative, synergetic, student-centered approach to developing entrepreneurial leaders. We provide a seamless and supportive living-learning environment that prioritizes self-advocacy, health, and well-being as central to academic, personal, and professional success. First-Generation Student Success leverages this approach with a focus on students whose parents have not completed a 4-year college degree within the United States.
As a population, first-generation students at Babson have grown from 9% to 22% of
undergraduate enrollment since 2019. First-Generation Student Success will coordinate efforts across the College and develop a comprehensive strategy to support all first-generation students. In Fall 2025, OFGSS expanded to support limited-income students and provide community and resources towards financial wellness.
About the Position:
Community Building & Major Programs
Assist First-Generation Student Success staff and other College community members in programing administration, including but not limited to event set-up/clean-up, attendance tracking, etc
Programs support may include: First-Gen Welcome Dinner, conferences and professional development opportunities, end-of-year First-Gen recognition, First-Gen College Celebration Day (11/8), collaboration events, information sessions, and educational workshops Participate in tabling and other information sessions throughout the academic year with enthusiasm and professionalism Support management and operations of the Babson food pantry, Stock & Exchange Engage with FLI partner offices in implementing key programming related to FLI identifies Serve as overnight hosts for perspective student events as requested by OFGSS Drive campus vehicle (van or golf cart) if eligible and approved Communication & Marketing
Participate in campus speaking events, such as Access Babson and other Enrollment needs, Orientation and new-student engagements, Office promotional videos, social media campaigns, etc. Submit content for Office promotional materials, social media campaigns, etc. This may include blogs, photos, video testimonials, written quotes, and more Develop office materials, including event flyers, brochures, resource materials, social media posts, office branded merchandise, and newsletters or community updates Support OFGSS Marketing team in material translations, closed captioning, transcribing, etc. Preferred Qualifications

Enrollment as a Babson College student (required) Ability to add employment hours as-needed. Students working the max of 20 hours consistently should not apply Enthusiasm and willingness to engage with peers, faculty, and staff during event facilitation, acting as a representative to the FLI community, the Office of First-Generation Student Success, Stock & Exchange, and Babson College Ability to demonstrate sensitivity and maintain confidentiality of students entering and engaging with the First-Generation Student Success staff and programming Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills Attention to detail Flexibility and willingness to assume new tasks and special projects Fluency in computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc Basic knowledge or willingness to learn Babson College and Office marketing guidelines and online design tools
