A boutique investment firm is seeking a
Long/Short Equity Analyst
to join its
Industrials
coverage team. The firm runs a fundamental, long/short equities strategy and offers a collaborative, high-accountability environment with a lean investment team. This role provides direct exposure to the investment process, close partnership with a senior portfolio manager, and meaningful responsibility from the outset. Responsibilities: Conduct in-depth fundamental research on Industrials companies, including industry dynamics, competitive positioning, and key value drivers Build and maintain detailed financial models (3-statement, scenario analysis, sensitivities) Develop and present long and short investment theses supported by rigorous analysis Monitor portfolio positions, earnings, news flow, and relevant industry developments Engage with company management teams, industry experts, and sell-side analysts Support portfolio construction and risk management discussions Prepare concise, high-quality investment memos and internal materials Qualifications: 2-5 years of experience in long/short equities, hedge funds, asset management or a related analytical role Strong financial modeling, accounting, and valuation skills Demonstrated interest in and familiarity with Industrials sectors (manufacturing, machinery, distribution, transportation, etc.) Ability to think independently and articulate differentiated investment views Comfortable operating in a small, fast-moving, and performance-oriented team High intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, and strong attention to detail
