
Mechanical Designer / Drafter
This role focuses on creating and revising AutoCAD drawings based on input from engineers, project managers, and designers. You’ll support the design of prepackaged buildings, process skids, cryogenic systems, power racks, and other mechanical assemblies within the energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
Produce accurate CAD drawings from specifications, sketches, and verbal instruction. Collaborate closely with engineers and project managers to complete design packages. Perform tolerance stack?ups to ensure proper fit and functionality. Maintain organized project documentation aligned with industry drafting standards. Partner with multiple departments to confirm all drawings are clear, correct, and error?free. Follow established drafting procedures and quality control processes. Skills and Competencies

May provide guidance to junior drafting staff in accordance with department policies and industry regulations. Work Environment
Primarily office?based with standard computer/drafting equipment. Occasional site visits may involve exposure to mechanical equipment, loud noise, outdoor conditions, or temperature extremes. Travel
Some travel is required. You may be asked to visit job sites for walk?downs or to perform facility As?Builts. Certain projects may require travel outside the local area, including occasional overnight stays. Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent 2+ years of experience in piping drafting Proficiency with AutoCAD, CADWorx, or other CAD software Ability to interpret and develop specifications using CADWorx specification editor Ability to read and write English and follow company policies Working knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards Preferred Education and Experience
Associate degree in Computer?Aided Drafting or equivalent trade school training Work Authorization
