OBJECTIVE AND MAIN TASK OF THE FUNCTION
Lead the Direct Market Germany–Austria organization by defining, implementing, and driving sustainable growth strategies, tactical initiatives, and actionable plans to consistently achieve and exceed sales and financial objectives.
TASKS
- Own and consistently achieve or exceed annual sales targets within the assigned market/territory.
- Hold full accountability for the annual Business Plan, including top-line revenue growth and bottom-line profitability for the defined market.
- Develop and execute strategic growth plans, driving partnership programs at business level and fostering strong collaboration with national and regional chains.
- Build, expand, and sustain long-term relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to strengthen market positioning and advance technology adoption.
- Partner closely with key customers to understand their business needs, market trends, and strategic direction, translating insights into actionable commercial initiatives.
- Lead, inspire, and further develop a high-performing team, fostering engagement, accountability, and a professional, results-driven work environment.
- Support headquarters in fulfilling local administrative and legal responsibilities, ensuring alignment and transparency.
- Continuously review and optimize procedures to enhance efficiency and ensure full compliance with local regulations and global company policies.
- Oversee P&L performance, ensuring delivery against annual financial targets and providing regular reporting at regional and global levels.
- Collaborate closely with local Marketing and Clinical teams to coordinate and execute market-specific commercial activities.
- Actively contribute to the EMEA strategic leadership team, driving cross-regional collaboration and accelerating overall EMEA growth.
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field
- Special Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of the medical device industry, ideally within ophthalmology.
- Proven sales leadership and management experience, with a consistent track record of achieving and exceeding targets.
- Ability to communicate, present, and influence effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated management experience within the ophthalmic market.
- Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and people management skills.
- Personality:
- Open-minded and adaptable professional with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset and strong commercial drive.
- Collaborative team player with a strong ambition to achieve and exceed high-performance goals.
- Professional Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of management experience required.
- Experience in ophthalmology and/or the refractive market preferred.
