Role Description
This is a
commission-only, remote contract role for a Freight Agent
with the ability to work anywhere in the United States of America. The Freight Agent will be responsible for creating and maintaining valuable relationships with clients and customers to establish their own book of business, in order to coordinate and manage the logistics and transportation of goods. Daily tasks include prospecting, cold calling leads, booking shipments, negotiating rates with carriers, ensuring timely delivery of cargo, and maintaining communication with clients and transportation providers. The role involves preparing and handling necessary documentation, monitoring shipment status, and resolving any issues that may arise during transit. Requirements
Minimum 1-year experience in logistics, supply chain management, or transportation, highly encouraged Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to maximize income on a commission basis (no limit on earnings potential) Proficiency in using logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations Must possess a strong sense of integrity and honesty Must possess your own home office (work from anywhere) including computer hardware, phone and internet Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to multitask Exceptional written communication skills Customer service oriented High school diploma or equivalent; a Bachelor's degree in logistics, business, or related field is a plus Responsibilities
Perform a minimum of 50 cold calls per day (strong leads are provided) Tracking and documenting relevant activities Use CRM to identify, call, and track prospects Manage your book of Customers; maintain & develop your existing accounts and prospect for new accounts Effectively maintain a pipeline to generate revenue to meet or exceed goals and expectations Professional collaboration and coordination with shippers, carriers, and dispatchers Understand market trends and conditions to offer competitive solutions to our customers Negotiate price and cost of carrier services Ability and desire to provide exceptional service to customers and carriers by taking ownership of shipments through their entire lifecycle High percentage commission splits with weekly payout (no waiting on the customer to pay PowerHouse Logistics first) Dedicated support staff Back-office support Access to ~80,000 carriers with fast set-up of new contract carriers Access to a qualified leads database of dormant customers Full visibility and generated reports to your shipments, carrier costs, customer costs as well as your commissions
