This is a full-time, field-based role in Houston, TX, for a Foodservice Sales Representative. The role involves building and maintaining relationships with clients, developing sales strategies, and achieving sales targets. The Sales Representative will identify customer needs, provide product knowledge, and ensure exceptional customer service. Responsibilities also include managing accounts, generating leads, coordinating with the team, and staying updated on market trends and company products. Key Responsibilities

Prospect and win new local restaurant and foodservice business within an assigned Houston territory through regular in‑person sales calls. Grow volume, margin, and product mix within existing accounts using fact‑based selling and menu/plate‑cost conversations. Manage a structured call cycle for base customers and prospects, including pre‑call planning and post‑call follow‑up. Partner with purchasing, production, and logistics to ensure accurate orders, on‑time deliveries, and quick resolution of service issues. Monitor competitor activity, pricing, and market trends, and bring back actionable intelligence on opportunities and risks. Prepare and deliver sales proposals, quotes, and product presentations to decision makers and kitchen leaders. Maintain accurate customer, contact, and opportunity information in our systems and provide timely sales forecasts. Represent Ruffino Meats & Foodservice professionally at customer meetings, food shows, and industry events as needed. Attend monthly sales meetings in Bryan, TX office. Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of outside sales experience in broadline foodservice, center‑of‑the‑plate proteins, or closely related food distribution. Proven track record of winning and growing restaurant or foodservice accounts in a field‑based role. Strong understanding of foodservice pricing, margins, and delivered cost (including freight, minimums, and rebates). Comfortable working most days in the field across the Houston metro area, including early mornings as needed to meet chefs and operators. Self‑starter who can work remotely with high accountability and manage their own call schedule and territory plan. Proficient with basic business technology (email, spreadsheets, CRM/ERP or sales tools); experience with Canopy Systems or similar is a plus. Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and ability to meet customers at their locations.
