The Marketing Promo Specialist manages the workflow, schedule and content integrity of the weekly ad for all formats. This position is the main contact with the merchandising team to ensure the correct items, prices and photos appear in the ad every week. The Marketing Promo Specialist will ensure the ad plan that was developed and agreed upon with the Business Directors, Marketing Directors and Vice President of Merchandising and Marketing implemented each week.
Main responsibilities: Review weekly ad submissions and check for compliance to ad plan Identify any discrepancies between plan and the actual submissions Maintain ad plan to ensure plans are 100% accurate and available to all team members who utilize them, including merchandising and marketing teams Work with offsite production team to ensure defined ad production and proofing schedule is met Work with Merchandising Team to obtain photography and /or samples to keep shopping for products to a minimum. Work with creative team to develop creative for weekly ad on special weeks (expos, holidays, themed events etc) Creative needs to be developed and approved before ad is started in production Create and maintain ad layouts - standard and special occasion format Work with merchandising team to make sure every ad is proofed by all business managers Review production and printing invoices to ensure accuracy. Work with partners to resolve invoice inconsistencies or errors Review all marketing materials that include Price & Item to ensure accuracy (email, website, etc) Participate in weekly Ad Review meetings Participate in Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Ad Planning meetings Performs other duties as requested or required by management We are looking for candidates who possess the following: Previous experience in retail merchandising department preferred Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), as well as Adobe Acrobat Outstanding verbal and written communication skills Experience with negotiating and working with others to resolve conflict Highly-detailed individual with exceptional organizational skills Ability to accept supervisory coaching related to performance, work habits and attitude.
