Overview
The Finance/Accounting Specialist I provides entry-level professional accounting support by reviewing financial statements, reconciling financial data, and preparing financial documentation. This role ensures completeness, internal accuracy, and conformance with established accounting classifications and standards. The position supports financial reporting activities while applying sound accounting principles.

Responsibilities
Examine financial statements and reports for completeness, internal accuracy, and compliance with uniform accounting classifications.
Reconcile financial reports and supporting documentation to identify discrepancies or inconsistencies.
Identify and report apparent errors or irregularities to appropriate personnel.
Prepare simple financial statements that do not require complex analytical interpretation.
Develop tables, charts, and exhibits for inclusion in financial reports.
Assist in maintaining financial documentation and supporting records.
Support accounting close-out and reporting cycles as assigned.
Ensure adherence to applicable accounting policies and procedures.
Assist senior financial personnel with routine reporting and documentation needs.
Utilize accounting systems and spreadsheet tools to compile financial data.
Qualifications
Zero (0) to two (2) years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or related field.
Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial classifications.
Experience reconciling financial data and identifying discrepancies preferred.
Proficiency in spreadsheet and financial reporting tools.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to follow established accounting standards and procedures.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work under general supervision in a structured financial environment.
Education Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA) in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field required;
OR
equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
