Overview

The Web Designer / Developer is responsible for the design, development, and enhancement of web-based platforms and digital interfaces that support organizational communication objectives and operational goals. This role integrates visual design principles with front-end development expertise to create user-centered, accessible, and technically sound web applications and digital experiences.

Responsibilities

Design and develop website interfaces, user experience (UX) features, and interactive elements that enhance usability and engagement. Create art, graphics, illustrations, and visual components to support online communications and digital content initiatives. Develop responsive web designs using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related technologies. Implement site animations, interactive components, and special-effects elements to enhance functionality and user experience. Develop and maintain web-based applications in support of current and emerging net-based technologies. Ensure website design aligns with organizational strategies, branding standards, and external communication goals. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business objectives into technical and visual solutions. Test and troubleshoot website functionality across browsers and platforms. Maintain compliance with accessibility standards, usability best practices, and applicable security requirements. Provide recommendations for enhancements to improve the overall look, feel, and performance of digital offerings. Maintain documentation related to web design, development processes, and system updates. Qualifications

Three (3) or more years of professional experience in web design and/or web development. Demonstrated experience in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development. Significant experience in graphic design and user interface (UI) development. Experience developing responsive and interactive web applications. Familiarity with web accessibility standards and cross-browser compatibility considerations. Strong understanding of design principles, layout, typography, and digital visual communication. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Education

Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Web Design, Computer Science, Information Technology, Graphic Design, or a related field required.
