Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Benefactor Services Representative - 38993 University Staff. Jobs in this career family involve development, marketing and management of messaging to both internal and external parties. Functions include marketing; advertising; communications; publications; brand management; writing; editing; proofreading; graphic design; web information architecture, development and design; web content development; electronic communications; social media; news media/relations; public relations; photography; videography; radio/television broadcasting; FCC compliance; and communication projects management. Professionals at the entry level are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial and student services functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field. At the entry level, duties are limited in scope and are performed with guidance and direction from other professionals and are performed in a training and development capacity. This Benefactor Services Representative position will develop and implement fundraising strategies and activities to carry forward the mission and vision of the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. This position will be part of the Philanthropic Growth program to educate, inspire and partner with patients, alumni and community members who give to CU Anschutz. Reports to the Lead Strategist for Philanthropic Growth: No direct reports.

Identifies supporters who want to learn more and could be potential prospects for major giving and planned gifts

Provides pro‑active cultivation and stewardship to mid‑level benefactors and Planned Giving society members via birthday cards, updates on breakthroughs and determine interest

Partners with Development Officers, Stewardship, Planned Giving, Prospect Research, and Patient Coordinated Services to learn and assist with the development cycle and moves management.

Manages and triages requests by patient and donors receiving mail and email communications.

Point of contact for tribute giving for friends and family who want to remember or honor their loved ones.

Creates and maintains crowdfunding pages for individuals and community groups who want to raise funds from their friends and family.

Documents all communication with patients and benefactors through contact reports

Develops and maintains a deep understanding of institutional priorities, academic programs and centers of excellence in order to translate these assets into compelling funding opportunities and align them with funders' interests.

Compiles materials regarding research breakthroughs and exciting opportunities to be able to educate and inspire benefactors in their area of interest

Assists Office of Advancement in ensuring HIPAA compliance

Represents the University at events in order to support the University and cultivate donors.

10% - Administrative Functions:

Performs clerical and administrative tasks. Schedules meetings and appointments, and proactively maintains calendars to ensure efficient time management. Assists staff with calendar management, expense reimbursement, and data entry relative to contacts and activities as needed. Coordinates actions, questions, and decisions between manager and others.

Other duties as assigned.

this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in‑person meetings.

One year of experience with fundraising, or customer service.

Professional experience working in non‑profit, events and/or development/fundraising.

Professional experience calling donors or customers.

Experience with print or digital marketing production.

Experience using donor database software such as Advance, Salesforce or a similar software.

Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.

Outstanding customer service skills.

Knowledge of general office procedures, protocol and professionalism; expert knowledge of Business English, spelling, punctuation and grammar.

Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, adapt to changing priorities, manage time and meet deadlines.

Proven ability to work in a team environment, develop effective interpersonal relationships, provide superior customer service, and communicate verbally and in writing.

Proven data entry skills with ability to input information accurately; prepare and maintain detailed records, files, and reports on an ongoing basis. - Solid ability to coordinate technical presentations including hardware set up.

Solid ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail and solid knowledge of money handling and mathematics.

Personal computer proficiency required, especially as related to Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Database applications.
