
A well-established residential home builder is looking to add a
Purchasing Agent
to their growing team. This is a key role supporting field operations by ensuring projects stay on budget and on schedule.
Position Overview The Purchasing Agent will oversee the procurement of all materials, labor, and services for residential construction projects. This individual will focus on cost control, vendor relationships, contract negotiation, and timely deliveries to support successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Source, bid, and negotiate pricing for materials and subcontractors
Develop and maintain strong vendor and trade partner relationships
Manage purchase orders, contracts, and pricing agreements
Track budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities
Ensure materials are delivered on time to meet build schedules
Resolve discrepancies, backorders, and invoice issues
Monitor market trends and pricing fluctuations
Qualifications
2+ years of purchasing or procurement experience (residential construction preferred)
Strong negotiation and communication skills
Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Solid understanding of residential construction materials and processes
