Job purpose The Leasing Consultant drives leasing performance, resident satisfaction, and daily operational execution at the community level. This role blends sales, marketing, customer engagement, and administrative coordination to directly impact occupancy, retention, and brand reputation in a highly competitive market.
Leasing Consultants serve as front‑line brand ambassadors and play a measurable role in achieving revenue and leasing velocity targets.
Responsibilities
Deliver exceptional customer service to residents, prospects, and visitors
Conduct community tours, overcome objections, and close leases to support occupancy goals
Maintain full compliance with Fair Housing and company policies
Execute outreach marketing and campus engagement efforts under leadership guidance
Respond promptly to calls, emails, and walk‑in traffic
Manage guest cards, lead follow‑ups, and conversion tracking
Enter and maintain prospect and applicant data within property systems
Review applications and coordinate verification processes
Prepare lease documents and maintain compliant resident files
Inspect apartment homes prior to move‑in readiness
Support renewal campaigns and complete renewal documentation
Maintain leasing office, model units, amenities, and curb appeal presentation
Monitor signage, marketing materials, and supply inventory
Coordinate work orders with maintenance and follow up with residents
Complete reporting, audits, and administrative tasks as assigned
Monitor market competitors, pricing, and concessions to strengthen leasing positioning
Support daily office workflow and operational efficiency
Turn and operational support
Support roommate matching coordination
Communicate resident concerns during turn and escalation periods
Assist with move‑in logistics and documentation completion
Distribute access materials and verify utility confirmationsConfirm resident profile accuracy within operating systems
Qualifications
Experience in sales, leasing, hospitality, or customer service preferred
Strong relationship‑building and persuasive communication skills
Professional, energetic customer‑facing presence
Ability to communicate community value and differentiate offerings
Organized with strong attention to detail
Effective time management and prioritization skills
Ability to understand lease documentation and procedures
Collaborative team mindset
Comfortable performing basic financial and numerical calculations
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Adaptable in fast‑paced, high‑traffic environments
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and peak season schedules
Education and experience
Bachelor’s degree preferred, or High School diploma/GED with relevant experience
Microsoft Office proficiency required
Experience with property management systems preferred
