E-ZPass Account Specialist/Court Representative
This is a position-specific recruitment. The resulting list of eligible candidates will be used to fill this Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) position/function only. All interested persons will need to re-apply for any future recruitment conducted for this classification. The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) owns, operates, and maintains eight major toll facilities comprised of four bridges, two tunnels, and two turnpikes, across the State of Maryland. Nature of Work: The E-ZPass Account Specialist/Court Representative handles non-legal representation of the MDTA E-ZPass operations at the Maryland District Court for trials resulting from contested Toll Violation Citations. The employee will be responsible for research and data interpretation of toll cases, serving as a subject matter expert for the agency. The duties for this position include, but are not limited to, the following: Oversee administrative tasks related to overdue toll payments; Serve as the intermediary between customers, E-ZPass Customer Service, the Motor Vehicle Administration, and the Maryland Central Collection Unit; Conduct extensive research of customer accounts toll history; Research and interpret customer data for escalation and communication with other agencies; Report and track resolution of customer issues; Prepare and review court research with court liaison prior to hearings; Provide video tolling and citation knowledge and customer account information for court cases; Manage court dispositions and customer accounts; Assist management with tolling projects and outreach events; Resolve inquiries/conflicts and conduct follow-up activities with customers and related agencies; and Determine eligibility and implementation of MDTA installment plan for customers. Employees in this position will report to the E-ZPass Account Specialist Lead. The current vacancy is located in Baltimore, MD. Hybrid telework schedules may be available for this position. The eligible list established from this recruitment may be used to fill future vacancies at other facilities throughout the Maryland Transportation Authority. Minimum Qualifications: Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. Experience: Four years of experience in administrative staff or professional work. Two years of this experience must include account recovery, specifically through handling escalated account dispute resolutions and debt collection. The ideal candidate will possess: Strong communication skills Experience in public representation for an organization Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Experience in resolving delinquencies This statement contains a selective qualification, which is more focused in scope than the minimum qualifications for this classification. Selective qualifications are utilized when the position requires specific or additional bona fide occupational qualifications (knowledge, skills, and abilities). No substitutions are allowed for a selective qualification.
